Head Teacher: Stefanie Nel

The last 8 years of my teaching career I taught Grades 2 and 3 dual medium at a private school. Teaching the youngsters is my passion and I believe it is my call in life!

What a small world it is! Teacher Brenda and I attended the same Remedial Educational Class at the Educational College in Potchefstroom and we did our 4 years training together.

Brenda van Schalkwyk:

My family and I lived in Dublin, Ireland for seven and a half years before moving to Oudtshoorn in April 2009. My husband, Hannes, is farming. We have 2 children, Hannes (jnr) in high school and Zidalee who is married to Wesley.

I have been teaching for 22 years and my passion is to teach young children. I love to educate them about nature. It is great to teach at Principia Primary as I am very entusiastic about environmental education and recycling. Being part of a school in its first years is a welcome challenge for me. I am excited about our schools future.

Manda Visser:

I am married to Hannes Visser and we have two adult children, Tanya and Anton. I enjoy gardening, reading and art.

It is my view that the classroom is not solely a place for learning, it is also an environment where a child should feel secure, be uplifted, introduced to social skills, get to know him/herself and learn to accept who they are. Taking into consideration that children come from various backgrounds, cultures and religions it is important to treat these issues in a way that includes all learners without prejudice. I believe that discipline is important but should be cultivated in such a way that it comes from the child and is not enforced by fear of punishment.

Danjoniël Schutte:

I recently moved to Oudtshoorn from Melkbosstrand, Cape Town.

I did Au Pair work in the Netherlands for one year and realised that I would like to work with children one day and also make it my career.

I have tutored children and was a class-assistant in 2008-2009 at Van Riebeeckstrand Primary, Melkbosstrand.

I love children and it is my passion to teach them something new every day.

It is a great pleasure to be part of Principia Primary School and I have learned so much already. I am enjoying the Grade R class very much and know that we will have great fun this year.

Sharne Gunter:

I was born and raised in this beautiful town of Oudtshoorn. I studied 'Early Childhood Development' after school and now have 2 beautiful children of my own. I am working as the Secretary of Principia Primary School during the morning and in the afternoons, I do the aftercare.

I absolutely love what I do and believe that all children have the right to an education and a voice/opportunity to be heard. They are sent to us, as educators and parents, to be loved and respected.

As an educator and parent I learn from them every day. Over the years they have taught me what it is to love unconditionally and to believe in my dreams. No one can dream better than an innocent child ... I am honoured to be a part of this school and am so privileged to have all these beautiful children in my life every day.

Isak Blok:

Ek is getroud en het 2 kinders en een kleinkind. Ek geniet om naby kinders te werk. Ek leer by hulle en hulle laat my baie lag. Die span onderwysers, personeel en ouers by Principia Primêr laat my soos deel van 'n groot familie voel.
